The location is both close to the capital and therefore his store on Rue Scribe, thanks to the railway which opened in 1837, and also near the Seine, where stocks of wood were transported on barges.The 1860 construction of the Louis Vuitton workshop in Asnières revolutionised the Maison’s production and organisation. It went hand-in-hand with a significant diversification of the company’s business, and indeed was the necessary condition for its expansion.
